After a six year hiatus, riotous three-piece Sleater-Kinney return with their latest studio album 'No Cities To Love'. The band's eighth full-length release comes ten years after their last 'The Woods', and despite being incredibly prolific in their formative years, this break has allowed them to reassess their sound and deliver something that fits more with the musical environment of today.

At first, 'No Cities To Love' comes across as a great combination of the band's original behaviour and a more matured edge running through. But as it plays you begin to get a sense of what this album is, and that is a no-holds-barred return to a scene that they had formally been ruling. As far as comeback records go, this is exactly how they should be done. A ballsy yet melodic collection of tracks that never lose pace and continue to rock from beginning to end.

The year may have only just begun but it seems we have already found ourselves one of the standout records of 2015. It has the enjoyable attitude of any pop-rock release but with a gritty and powerful undertone that keeps itself heading on the right path.
