Squid announce new album 'Cowards'

Following on from their highly-praised 'O Monolith' LP last year, Squid have now announced their plans for a new studio album, arriving early next year.

The new full-length 'Cowards' is being previewed by the lead single 'Crispy Skin', which comes accompanied by a stunning Takashi Ito-directed video, and is set to be released on the 7th February via Warp.

Speaking about the new offering, the band's Ollie Judge said, “Crispy Skin was lyrically inspired by a dystopian novel I read where cannibalism becomes the societal norm and humans are manufactured and sold in supermarkets. I think when most people read books like these they picture themselves as the sort of person that would take the moral high-ground within these narratives. The track was written about how the reality of having a moral-compass in these stories of desperation and horror would be extremely difficult.”
