Squid share new single 'Paddling'

With their highly-anticipated debut album set to land in the coming months, Squid have now dropped the next cut to be lifted from their forthcoming full-length.

The new single 'Paddling' was premiered on Annie Mac's Radio 1 show last night (16th March), and follows on from the previously shared track 'Narrator' in previewing their first LP 'Bright Green Field', which is out on the 7th May via Warp Records.

Speaking about the new offering, the band said, “Written from two different perspectives, ‘Paddling’ is a song about the dichotomy between simple pleasures and decadent consumerism. Recounting a familiar scene from Wind in the Willows, the song reminds us that although we are humans, we are ultimately animals that are driven by both modern and primal instincts, leading to vanity and machismo around us in the everyday.”
