With just days to go until the release of their highly-anticipated third album Cowards, Squid unveil 'Cro-Magnon Man', the final preview of the record before it lands this Friday 7th February via Warp Records.
A track that bends reality, 'Cro-Magnon Man' imagines a world where meaningless objects outlast human existence, a haunting reflection on permanence and obsolescence. Featuring vocals from guitarist Louis Borlase alongside Clarissa Connelly, Tony Njoku, and Rosa Brook, the song is a glitch-heavy, bass-driven odyssey, layered with fractured synth stabs, eerie guitars, and an undercurrent of unease.
The single follows 'Crispy Skin', a track that explores loneliness and isolation in a world that never stops moving. Both singles have already earned BBC Radio 6 playlist placements, setting the stage for what promises to be one of Squid’s most thought-provoking and sonically adventurous albums yet.
