Sunflower Bean return with their latest single 'Nothing Romantic', the soaring second preview of their forthcoming album 'Mortal Primetime', out on the 25th April via Lucky Number.
Following the Iggy Pop-channelling energy of first single 'Champagne Taste', 'Nothing Romantic' embraces arena-sized power chords and anthemic intensity, drawing inspiration from Heart, Pat Benatar, and Joan Jett. The track also features piano from Roger Joseph Manning Jr., co-founder of legendary power-pop outfit Jellyfish.
Speaking about the track, they said, “Nothing Romantic is about rejecting the myth of the tortured artist—realizing that the joys of creativity don’t have to come from the lows of misery.”
The track’s accompanying music video, directed by Sophia Feuer, mirrors this concept by capturing the dual nature of life on the road. Sunflower Bean offers a behind-the-scenes look at touring, navigating green rooms, lost highways, and endless towns.
