Sunny Luwe drops new single 'Blue Skies'

On her latest single 'Blue Skies', Sunny Luwe takes a breath, and then lets it out in full technicolour. The Gold Coast artist, a three-time QLD Music Award finalist, steps into a lighter space with this warm, genre-blending cut that radiates like sunlight on skin. Straddling soul, alt-pop, and a touch of twang, the track is a return to why music mattered in the first place.

After the emotional weight of her debut album, Sunny found herself tangled in the all-too-familiar trap of chasing metrics over meaning. This song is her soft but firm refusal to comply. The production, courtesy of longtime collaborator Matthew Collins (Puppy Palace Studios), glows with intimacy and understated polish. There’s a breezy ease in the rhythm section, a soulful depth to the vocal layers, and a playful spark in the arrangement that hints at country roots without ever committing to a single lane. The result is a sound that floats freely; unbothered, unboxed, and unmistakably hers.

Lyrically, 'Blue Skies' doesn’t try to out-smart itself. Instead, it leans into clarity, and the desire to shake off expectations and simply be. It’s a gentle anthem for anyone who’s ever needed to remember why they started, why they create, or why they keep going.

With 'Blue Skies', Sunny Luwe announces her eagerly-awaited sophomore album 'Feeling Good', which lands on the 10th October. And with a preview this good, we know her next material will showcase an artist truly coming into her own.
