California-born singer-songwriter Sunny Rae Keller has shared her beautiful new single ‘Carry You On’ as the latest glimpse into forthcoming debut album 'Pocket'.
Written during a residency at Château Orquevaux in France, the track emerged from conversations between the artist and her mother about the women who came before them. Their reflections encompassed her adoptive grandmother, her biological grandmother and her mother's experience of caring for a parent living with Alzheimer’s, eventually inspiring a song about how people leave pieces of themselves within those they love.
Musically, ‘Carry You On’ keeps things wonderfully intimate. Fingerpicked acoustic guitar, subtle percussion and Keller’s tender vocals give the song room to breathe, allowing its emotional weight to emerge naturally rather than forcing the moment.
