Brussels-based independent artist Tom Ymani explores the excitement and frustration of romantic attraction on new double single Amorium, bringing together singles ‘I Want You Way’ and ‘Encore Plus’.
But rather than representing an individual song, 'Amorium' connects two tracks concerned with wanting someone who remains beyond reach. Drawing from the artist's own experiences, the release examines crushes complicated by incompatible sexual orientations or existing relationships, placing vulnerability beneath bright, dance-oriented pop production.
And that contrast is central to the 23-year-old Belgian artist's approach. Instead of presenting unrequited feelings entirely through melancholy, ‘I Want You Way’ and ‘Encore Plus’ turn romantic uncertainty into energetic pop intended to retain a sense of celebration.
