Triggerfinger announce new album with bold new single ‘Through The Beam’

Belgian rock trio Triggerfinger have announced their sixth studio album 'Tarmac', arriving September 18th, alongside the release of new single ‘Through The Beam’.

Returning after more than two decades at the forefront of European rock, the band’s latest chapter sees them rediscover the energy and urgency that has made them one of the continent’s most celebrated live acts. Led by Ruben Block and Mario Goossens, and joined on stage by guitarist Geoffrey Burton, Triggerfinger have built a reputation for electrifying performances — sharing stages with artists including The Rolling Stones and touring the UK and Ireland with Thin Lizzy.

‘Through The Beam’ introduces a new side to the band’s sound, combining their trademark rock foundations with flashes of funk, alternative pop and electronic influence. Driven by sharp guitar lines, pulsing synth bass and precise, hard-hitting drums, the track builds with a restless momentum while Block’s vocals bring a reflective edge to its infectious melodies.

Written by Block and Goossens, the single was recorded and produced alongside renowned producer Mitchell Froom, with mixing from Tchad Blake and mastering by Matt Colton at Metropolis Studios in London.

Discussing the track, Ruben Block says: “Amid the relentless flood of material and sensory temptations that compete for our attention, it may take more effort than ever to recognize the beauty already before us. Yet there remains a unique pleasure in pursuing even the most frivolous and seemingly pointless gadget, finding joy and satisfaction in the chase itself.”

Through The Beam arrives as the first taste of 'Tarmac', following Triggerfinger’s return to the stage after a period away from touring. After concluding the campaign around 2019’s album 'Colossus', the band stepped away following two decades of near-constant activity, a break that was later extended by the pandemic and the departure of longtime bassist Monsieur Paul.

Their return has already seen the group reconnect with audiences across Europe, with a 25-date tour selling strongly and reaffirming the band’s enduring live reputation. Now, with 'Tarmac', Triggerfinger enter a new era with renewed focus and the same ambition that has driven them since the beginning.

The band will spend the summer appearing at festivals across Europe before heading out on an extensive album release tour this October, visiting Austria, Switzerland, Germany, France, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Turkey and more.

'Through The Beam' is out now, with 'Tarmac' following September 18th. Watch the new single in the player below
