Yasu Club deliver new single 'picking at grass'

Tokyo-based duo Yasu Cub have released their eagerly-awaited debut album 'my early years, your spiral arms', alongside its lead single 'picking at grass'.

The track stands as a central moment within the record, pairing a more driving, guitar-led sound with the duo’s signature introspective tone. Built around layered instrumentation, including piano and textured guitar work, the song balances weight and vulnerability, gradually expanding into a fuller, emotionally charged arrangement.

Originally written over a decade ago while the pair were studying in Portland, 'picking at grass' was revisited and rerecorded in 2025, taking on new depth through collaborative sessions and refined production.

Formed by Jacob Oki Ahearn and Rory Hoffmeister, Yasu Cub bring together influences from indie, folk, and alternative music, shaping a sound rooted in both subtlety and atmosphere.
