After spending the last few months building and developing their sound, emerging artist Blue Mena is now ready to introduce themselves to the world as they deliver their sweeping debut single 'Knocked Out'.
Capturing a wonderfully warm and woozy dream-pop aesthetic from start to finish, 'Knocked Out' makes for a brilliantly wistful and hazy listen. Coupled with a rich and vibrant new video, this initial offering sets an impressive benchmark for them to build from in the months ahead.
Speaking about the new offering, Blue Mena said, “I wanted to make something really feel good and groovy and ended up with a trans joy song about figuring out my gender and rejecting what was expected of me. We took that and ran with it for the video - a dystopian, queer distortion of mid-century Americana tropes showing how freaky it can be to conform.”
Although this is only their first official release to date, it is clear that 'Knocked Out' makes for a brilliantly rousing opening effort. With such a strong and passionate approach to both songwriting and production, we can't wait to hear what they come back with next.
