Paddy Smith shares new single 'Angel Took Flight'

Irish bluesman Paddy Smith returns with 'Angel Took Flight', a searing and intimate ballad that marks the final single ahead of his forthcoming album 'Could Have Found Grace' (out 19th September). Built on slow-burning blues grooves, warm organ swells, and raw, heartfelt vocals, the track unfolds like a whispered confession wrapped in grit and grace.

“This song is about the moments we miss, and the grace we seek after the fact,” says Smith. “It’s one of the most personal songs I’ve written — a story of hope and missed chances. A song that speaks to the soul.”

Drawing from his own journey through addiction and redemption, Smith delivers each line with lived-in weight. Backed by a powerhouse band including players from The Waterboys and Van Morrison’s touring outfit, 'Angel Took Flight' is a quietly devastating reminder that even in the wreckage, there’s room for grace.
