Scottish singer-songwriter Daniel Leckerman has built a career where music and advocacy go hand in hand. Alongside crafting emotionally resonant electro-pop, he has become a passionate voice for accessibility and inclusion within the music industry, using both his art and his work through The Harmony Dialogue to champion disabled creatives and foster more welcoming spaces.
His latest single 'Karma' continues his musical evolution. Blending shimmering synths, atmospheric production and introspective lyricism, the track reflects on the people, places and memories that continue to shape us, even after we've tried to leave them behind. Equal parts nostalgic and hopeful, it explores the delicate balance between honouring the past and embracing the future.
So with the new single out now, we sat down with him to find out more about his origins and what has been inspiring him most over the years.

What was the first instrument you fell in love with?
The first instrument I fell in love with was guitar. My mum taught me to play from a young age.
What kind of music did you love when you were younger?
I’ve always loved pop music and listening to the charts. I would sometimes have a soft spot for ballads, and I still do. I listen to similar genres since then and now, maybe now more EDM for energy boosts.
What was the first album you remember owning?
I think besides Now That’s What I Call Music, the first album was probably Take That or Abba - the classics.
What is the one song you wished you could have written yourself?
One song I really wish I wrote is Toxic by Brittany Spears.
Do you have any habits or rituals you go through when trying to write new music?
When I’m working on new music, I like to have a strong intention of what I’m writing about. Sometimes in the past, I would play on the piano with no expectations or story, and that doesn’t always help the process. I find it beneficial to explore different sounds and chord progressions, and also not overthink the lyrics too much.
Who are your favourite artists you have found yourself listening to at the moment?
At the moment, I can’t stop listening to Bebe Rexha and Cobrah.
If you could open a show for anyone in the world, who would it be?
I would love to open a show for Lady Gaga or Elton John.
What do you find is the most rewarding part about being a musician?
The most rewarding part about being a musician for me is the self-expression and the platform to bring people together.
And what is the most frustrating part?
One of the most frustrating parts is instability, I wish the music industry was less toxic and paid people fairly.
And what is the best piece of advice you have received as a musician?
A few of the best piece’s of advice I have received is ‘what is meant for you, won’t pass you by’ and ‘never stop making music’.
