Limerick pop-soul artist Edwina van Kuyk embraces uncertainty with open arms on the beautifully serene new single ‘Floating’.
Following the gospel-infused power of ‘Here To Stay’, the singer-songwriter shifts into something lighter and more spacious, pairing warm electric piano with her wonderfully expressive, jazz-tinted vocals. Co-written with Chris O'Shea and Herman Franke, the result is an effortlessly soothing piece of pop-soul with shades of Olivia Dean and Sam Fender.
At its heart, ‘Floating’ is about releasing the pressure to have everything figured out. She captures the freedom that comes from stepping away from relentless expectations, quietening the surrounding noise and allowing yourself to simply exist in the moment.
