Arkansas artist Possumwulf emerges from the Southern Gothic wilderness with his haunting new single ‘You Can’t Kill My Love’.
Described brilliantly by the artist as “hillbilly doom pop for the collapse,” the track brings together the strange corners of Americana, post-rock and crank wave to create something defiantly difficult to categorise. Fuzz, steel guitars and atmospheric experimentation feed into a sound that feels simultaneously rooted in the Arkansas landscape and completely removed from convention.
Written as an expression of resistance in what the artist describes as a period of growing autocratisation, ‘You Can’t Kill My Love’ channels unease into defiance, placing resilience at the heart of its sprawling musical world.
It's another fascinating addition to a catalogue that has already drawn comparisons with Swans, Nick Cave and Grizzly Bear, while earning praise for its distinctive fusion of Southern rock, chamber-pop and darker experimental textures.
