Uncanny Valley Girls share new single '2 Vexed 2 Tired'

Uncanny Valley Girls disguise existential exhaustion beneath bouncing synths and dancehall rhythms on brilliantly restless new single ‘2 Vexed 2 Tired’.

Their latest track finds the London outfit turning burnout, monotony and uncertainty about the future into something unexpectedly infectious. Frontman Michael Bissett conceived its central idea after dreaming about a struggling Rastafarian working in a launderette who described himself as “too vexed and too tired”. Bissett woke, recorded the melody into his phone and promptly went back to sleep.

Written during a particularly bleak January, ‘2 Vexed 2 Tired’ captures Bissett feeling ground down by work and routine while questioning whether to continue fighting or simply give up.

Influenced by philosopher Mark Fisher's idea of the “slow cancellation of the future”, the song contrasts those anxieties with buoyant, increasingly energetic instrumentation.
