Owen Steib releases debut single 'Jolie'

New York City singer-songwriter and guitarist Owen Steib has released his debut single 'Jolie', introducing a nostalgic guitar-driven sound inspired by the alt-rock scene of the 90s.

At just 18 years old, he draws influence from artists including Goo Goo Dolls, Gin Blossoms, Deep Blue Something and Toad the Wet Sprocket, combining melodic guitar arrangements with rich vocal harmonies and emotionally driven storytelling.

Built around bright arpeggiated guitars, acoustic rhythms and layered three-part harmonies, 'Jolie' captures the melodic energy of classic college rock while introducing his own songwriting perspective.

The track follows the fictional story of a troubled young woman, with its fragmented narrative unfolding through vivid imagery and seemingly disconnected memories. But beneath the intricate storytelling lies a central message of comfort and reassurance.
