ARTIST OF THE WEEK: No.425 - Cloth

After originally making a name for themselves as independent artists with their stunning self-titled debut LP in 2019, Glasgow-based twin-sibling duo Cloth now sign to Mogwai's Rock Action Records to announce the details behind their next studio album 'Secret Measure'.

Marking their first collection since last year's 'Low Sun' EP, the pair are previewing their latest endeavour with the wonderfully warm new single 'Pigeon'. Accompanied by a vivid new video, directed by Bristol’s Clump Collective, 'Pigeon' perfectly reflects the sweet and soaring energy the band have always looked to produce. Meandering and textured in its approach, they feel totally at ease throughout this new release.

Adding about the new track, they said, "With “Pigeon”, we set ourselves the challenge of writing a bold, infectious bop which retained some of the slightly jarring, dissonant elements which always excite us and feature in a lot of our work. The song was born from one riff Rachael wrote which we both fell in love with and, through its development, ended up becoming one of the defining songs of the record. Big splashes of analogue synth - a world we fully embraced for the first time on this album - underpin a driving pop song which lyrically examines the importance of teaching yourself to try and be okay with the unknowns of the future, even if things seem uncertain and overwhelming in the present."

Cloth's new album 'Secret Measure' will be released on the 5th May via Rock Action Records, and you can watch the new video for 'Pigeon' in the player below.
