Luminous singer-songwriter Hetta Falzon has released her highly anticipated single 'Freckles', out now via Matt Maltese’s Last Recordings On Earth.
'Freckles' offers a stunning first glimpse into Hetta’s soft, soulful universe, weaving heartfelt lyricism with classical harmonies and jazz-inspired melodies. Speaking on the track, Hetta shares: “I think we all have a human in our lives who will always have a hold on us. For me, it’s my year 9 situationship. That’s who this song is about — someone I’ll probably always make excuses for. No matter how much I move on, when I see them, I’m right back where I began.”
The song was recorded live in just four takes alongside collaborators badbadbad. “There’s so much history and so many emotional layers within this song that I knew the only true way to capture it was live,” Hetta explains. “The song takes on a new dynamic journey every time I perform it.”
Raised in Somerset and now based in Manchester, the 20-year-old artist merges her classical training (having started at six) with an unwavering commitment to emotional honesty. Inspired by cello suites, choral arrangements, and musical theatre scores, her songwriting is intimate, intricate, and profoundly human.
