Disco legends Chic made a surprise announcement this weekend, giving a number of details about a new forthcoming album, the first from the band in over 20 years.
The new appropriately title record 'It's About Time' will be available in June and the first single 'I'll Be There' is already being teased online.
Speaking on his blog, frontman Nile Rodgers said, “As with all Chic albums, this one’s based on a concept. Four years ago I was stricken with very aggressive cancer and I wasn’t sure how much time I had left. I decided the album’s concept would be about time and I’d feature as many people from the lifespan of Chic that I could on it… The album’s title is: ‘It’s About Time’… because It’s About Time.”
The new single 'I'll Be There', featuring The Martinez Bros, will be available to download from the 20th March, and you can watch a short teaser of the new track below.
