Chuck Berry announces first album in 38 years

For the first time in more than 38 years, Chuck Berry has announced his plans to release a new album very soon.

His new release, simply called 'Chuck', is his first since his 1979 full-length 'Rock It', and was recorded alongside his long-serving backing band, which includes children Charles Jr. and Ingrid, Jimmy Marsala, Robert Lohr, and Keith Robinson.

Dedicating the album to his wife of 68 years, Thelmetta Berry, he stated, “This record is dedicated to my beloved Toddy. My darlin’ I’m growing old! I’ve worked on this record for a long time. Now I can hang up my shoes!”

'Chuck' is due out sometime early next year.
