Few stories in music are as extraordinary as that of Jason David, the voice and force behind I Am Untitled. After losing 80% of his tongue to stage 4 cancer and being told he would never sing or speak again, Jason refused to accept silence as his fate. His determination not only proved the doctors wrong but sparked the creation of I Am Untitled, a boundary-defying project spanning pop, hip hop, EDM, and acoustic music, all written and recorded by Jason himself.
Now, with the release of his new single 'You Are Good' and the 20-track deluxe album 'Blank Canvas', Jason invites listeners into a deeply personal journey of survival, faith, and hope. Inspired by a life-saving moment in the hospital, when his wife sang over him as he was ready to give up the fight, the track transforms that raw experience into an uplifting anthem that celebrates resilience and the power of love.
So with the new single out now, we sat down with Jason to find out more about his origins and influences over the years.

What was the first instrument you fell in love with?
The piano and the keytar.
What kind of music did you love when you were younger?
Hip hop and R&b.
What was the first album you remember owning?
All That You Can’t Leave Behind by U2.
What is the one song you wished you could have written yourself?
Fix You by Coldplay.
Do you have any habits or rituals you go through when trying to write new music?
I create a digital “sandbox” meaning I pick my instruments and plugins ahead of time that I will access for the album. I have to have a “box” so I can think outside the box. But if there’s no box, then the options and ideas are limitless and I’ll never finish the album.
Who are your favourite artists you have found yourself listening to at the moment?
AJR and Raye, very few artists are willing to bring such theatrics, vulnerability and cinematic tension to their music but both AJR and Raye do so brilliantly.
If you could open a show for anyone in the world, who would it be?
Ed Sheeran, his emphasis on songwriting is much appreciated, and if you're trying to get your music there… it’s hard to beat his crowd sizes haha.
What do you find is the most rewarding part about being a musician?
Performing your song live and seeing it move people to tears or joy.
And what is the most frustrating part?
Social media lol
And what is the best piece of advice you have received as a musician?
No artist ever feels like they’ve “made it” so don’t focus on getting to the top of the mountain, focus on enjoying the ride and the view… right now.
