What was the first instrument you fell in love with?

The first instrument I fell in love with was the bass guitar as it was the first instrument I got my hands on, probably because I thought it would be the easiest to learn or something.

What kind of music did you love when you were younger?

Anything my mum and dad played to be honest, if i was around my mum it would be anything motown. Around my dad (usually in his car) anything from Bowie to Gary Numan.

What was the first album you remember owning?

I remember buying a Sum-41 (all killer no filler) album off a mate on the way to school for two pounds, pretty sure I remember they needed two pounds for a pack of ten Lamberts.

What is the one song you wished you could have written yourself?

It changes more than you think, one day it could be the Jesus Of Suburbia by Green Day and the next it could be someday by the strokes. can't say i can pick one.

Do you have any habits or rituals you go through when trying to write new music?

Can't say I do to be honest, the music just comes to me when i least expect it, and what a feeling it is to. When that happens I can't wait to see where it will lead.

Who are your favourite artists you have found yourself listening to at the moment?

I'm loving tame impala at the moment, I've seemed to have found myself stuck in the 80’s. so much great music came from that decade. Something about the synths you know?

If you could open a show for anyone in the world, who would it be?

That's a tough one aint it!? so many great bands and artists, if i had to pick it would have to be oasis. They have the greatest gigs! I imagine the atmosphere would be nuts! the pressure would be unreal though wouldn't it!

What do you find is the most rewarding part about being a musician?

Showing someone something that you know as a songwriter that they've never heard before. especially if it's a special song written about them, they love that!

And what is the most frustrating part?

Just trying to get past the writers block to be honest, not much else as it's a great thing being a musician.

And what is the best piece of advice you have received as a musician?

Be yourself and get stuck in!
