GUM announces new album 'Out In The World'

Following up his much-loved 2018 studio album 'The Underdog', GUM aka Jay Watson has now announced his plans for a new LP in the coming months.

The new full-length 'Out In The World' will feature the previously shared title-track as well as the newly unveiled lead single 'Don't Let It Go Out', and is due to be released on the 12th June via Spinning Top Records.

Speaking about his new offering, he said, “I find it hard to describe stylistically. My music for years was an obvious sum of its influences but it’s getting harder and harder to pick. ‘Don’t Let It Go Out’ is about our modern desire to capture or record and keep every moment. The ease to not only do all this, but then lose it forever down the track inspires and disturbs me.”

While adding about the album, “This album is my attempt at making a record that combines my fascination of how other people live their lives, with my own internal desire to analyse mine and improve it. ‘Out In The World’ was a phrase that conjured a lot of grandeur and ego, yet somehow felt really small and wholesome at the same time.”
