Dublin outfit Gurriers continue to tear up their own rulebook with ‘Pins’, the fourth single from forthcoming album 'Nobody’s Coming To Save You', arriving on the 25th September through Play It Again Sam.
‘Pins’ finds the band making one of their most intriguing stylistic leaps yet. Their familiar alternative-rock guitars remain firmly in place, but this time they're thrown against the swagger and rhythmic punch of 90s boom bap, opening up a striking new dimension to their increasingly adventurous sound.
Behind that muscular production sits one of Gurriers' most vulnerable songs. ‘Pins’ explores the contradiction of loving another person completely while being unable to extend that same compassion towards yourself, turning the tension between devotion and self-worth into something raw and deeply affecting.
The single follows ‘Nothing Happens Twice’, currently on the BBC Radio 6 Music B-List, alongside previous album tracks ‘Party Lines’ and ‘Nobody’s Coming To Save You’, the latter earning an A-List spot at 6 Music.
