Jehnny Beth shares new single 'No Good For People'

As anticipation builds for her forthcoming album 'You Heartbreaker, You', Jehnny Beth unveils the latest glimpse into its world with the blistering new single 'No Good For People'. Out now via Fiction Records, the track blends industrial synths with haunting lyricism in a bold meditation on self-sabotage, solitude, and emotional dissonance.

Inspired by a line from True Detective’s Rust Cohle, “Sometimes I think I’m just not good for people…”,the song explores the fragile line between connection and corrosion. “It spoke to me because it questions the inability to coexist with others,” Jehnny shares. “The truth can be heartbreaking.”

The accompanying video, co-directed by Beth and longtime creative partner Johnny Hostile, plays with ideas of duality and distortion. “We explored the idea of the double,” she explains. “How we can be two-faced sometimes, or want to hide our ugly side.” Shot in the wake of David Lynch’s passing, the video leans into surrealism and dark symbolism.

The single continues Jehnny Beth’s genre-defying exploration of identity and intimacy, picking up where her 2020 debut 'To Love Is to Live' left off. With 'You Heartbreaker, You' due out on the 29th August, 'No Good For People' offers a glimpse into a record that promises to be as visceral and visionary as anything she’s done before.
