South East London-based songwriter Leo Walrus returns with 'Matthew’s Line', the haunting fourth single from his upcoming sophomore album 'Moontime'.
Leaning into the shadowy territory between obsession and self-destruction, 'Matthew’s Line' is one of the most emotionally intense offerings from Walrus to date. Fans of Elliott Smith, Lou Reed, or the sprawling experimentalism of Black Country, New Road will find much to absorb in its shifting arrangements and emotionally layered lyricism.
The song is accompanied by a captivating visual, directed by Georgia Brogan (SXSW Sydney award-nominated), which sees Walrus himself on screen in an intimate yet unsettling narrative of fixation and collapse. As both artist and character, Walrus blurs the line between confession and performance.
Now part of a growing underground art scene in London, Leo Walrus combines vintage bohemian aesthetics with an introspective digital-age voice, marking him as a unique figure in the evolving alt-folk landscape.
