Lev Tramana - 'Ravensara Part Two'

7/10

Lev Tramana’s 'Ravensara Part Two' feels like a series of waypoints, like letters scattered across an unseen map. Picking up where Part One left off, this EP leans into his fascination with transformation through the quieter shifts that happen when memory, loss, and self-discovery intertwine.

What stands out most here is Tramana’s ability to fold the intimate into the universal. His voice, earthy yet unguarded, drifts over arrangements that nod to both folk tradition and the otherworldly textures of his Romani lineage. You hear the dust of deserts, the solitude of high peaks, and the pull of places that live on long after we’ve left them. The guitar work is skeletal but deliberate, often leaving space for the silence between notes to carry as much weight as the melodies themselves.

Each track functions like a correspondence, whether to a long-vanished companion, an imagined figure, or the shadow of his younger self. That framing gives the EP an almost mythic quality, but it’s never weighed down by grandiosity. Instead, there’s an honesty that makes even its most mystical edges feel grounded, as though he’s pulling symbols from dreams and laying them bare in the daylight.

'Ravensara Part Two' confirms Tramana’s place in the lineage of folk alchemists; artists who turn lived experience and cultural memory into something at once ancient and strikingly current. It’s music made for departures, returns, and the in-between spaces where change slowly takes root.

Lev Tramana's 'Ravensara Part Two' EP will be available to stream from the 5th September.
