Mac DeMarco announces new album 'Guitar'

Mac DeMarco has officially announced his new album 'Guitar', due for release on the 22nd August via Mac’s Record Label. Alongside the announcement comes the album’s lead single and video, 'Home', a poignant reflection on the meaning of home and personal distance from the past.

Written and recorded entirely by DeMarco in November 2024 at his Los Angeles home, 'Guitar' marks his most self-contained project to date. The multi-instrumentalist handled all aspects of the album’s creation, from songwriting and tracking to mixing and video production, with mastering by David Ives. “I think Guitar is as close to a true representation of where I’m at in my life today as I can manage to put to paper,” he shared. “I’m happy to share this music, and look forward to playing these songs as many places as I’m able.”

The single 'Home' finds DeMarco reflecting on the weight of memory and nostalgia. Its accompanying video, shot solo while canoeing near his mother’s new home in Canada, matches the track’s quiet introspection.

To support the album, DeMarco will hit the road this November for a UK tour, including a stop at London’s Eventim Apollo on the 10th November, followed by an Asia run in early 2026 and US dates in May. All shows will feature support from artists signed to Mac’s Record Label, including Mock Media, Tex Crick, Daryl Johns, and Vicky Farewell.
