Michael Kiwanuka wins the Mercury Music Prize 2020

His third album 'KIWANUKA' took home the top prize

In a year that saw so many firsts for the Mercury Music Prize, which saw more female-led artists receive nominations than ever before and announcing the winner on BBC One's The One Show, Michael Kiwanuka was awarded the 2020 prize in a live-announcement last night.

Winning for his stunning third studio album 'KIWANUKA', he was first told about his win the night before and forced to keep it a secret for more than 24 hours. Annie Mac presented him the award live on The One Show last night (25th September).
