Oreaganomics - 'And Introducing.....shane!!!'

7/10

When they first broke through with their much-loved debut LP 'Hand Turkey' in 2019, indie-folk innovators Oreaganomics established themselves as one of the more progressive outfits emerging on the scene. Taking this broad and adventurous approach to instrumentation and adding it to a vibrant approach to songwriting, they quickly made waves with their immersive aesthetics. And with plenty of time away to figure out their next move, they return with their eagerly-awaited sophomore album 'And Introducing.....shane!!!', a record that broadens those wondrous textures once again.

Described as a "protest album saying fuck you to the oligarchs", 'And Introducing.....shane!!!' instantly rekindles those inventive pursuits they first arrived with. Dabbling in this heady mix of soul, funk, and indie-rock endeavours as it plays, this ten-track collection finds them in a brilliantly revived guise, pushing the boundaries of their sound as far as they will go. While it certainly makes for this vivid and varied listen, Oreaganomics still manage to rein in their creative identity, creating a strong and succinct experience as often as possible.

It may have been quite some time since their previous outing, but 'And Introducing.....shane!!!' shows they are still very much on top of their creative game right now. Brimming with these warm and emotive auras from start to finish, we hope they don't leave it this long before producing something new again.
