Orla Gartland drops new single 'Now What?'

Orla Gartland has delivered an unexpected gift to fans with the surprise release of her new single 'Now What?', which premiered as BBC Radio 1’s Hottest Record. The emotionally charged track is set to feature on an upcoming extended edition of her critically acclaimed second album 'Everybody Needs A Hero'.

Arriving on the heels of Gartland’s biggest UK and Ireland tour to date — including sold-out headline shows at London’s O2 Kentish Town Forum and Dublin’s 3Olympia Theatre — 'Now What?' finds the singer-songwriter at her most reflective. It captures the tender, messy aftershocks of a breakup and the strange limbo that follows, delivered with her signature lyrical clarity and vulnerability.

“My second album Everybody Needs A Hero came out in October 2024 and I started this year with a strong feeling that I had more to say,” Gartland explains. “Last year I experienced some big life changes; I felt more unravelled & pensive than any other time in my adult life. Now What? explores the vast unknown we face after a breakup and how our feelings morph and change over time.”
