Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs team up with El-P for new single 'Glib Tongued'

Newcastle’s Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs have unveiled the official video for their latest single 'Glib Tongued', featuring a blistering guest verse from Run The Jewels' El-P. The track marks the third preview of their highly anticipated fifth studio album 'Death Hilarious', set for release on the 4th April via Missing Piece Records (North America) and Rocket Recordings (Rest of World).

Frontman Matt Baty delves into the track’s meaning, explaining, “My lyrics reflect on how fondness for the past and senses of nostalgia can influence the present, often in a political sense—and not for the better. This notion of ‘getting things back to how they used to be’ feels very backwards. The ‘good old days’ never existed.”

On the collaboration with El-P, Baty adds, “Having El-P on this track was absolutely mind-blowing. A world-class lyricist—no smoke and mirrors, he sees and tells it exactly the way it is.”

Bassist John-Michael Hedley shares a personal connection to the song, “‘Glib Tongued’ was an idea I’d been sitting on for a few years, and it felt like the right time to inject it into Death Hilarious. After bringing it to the table, it morphed into something bigger and better than I could have ever imagined. Securing El-P’s contribution blew my mind. I feel immensely proud that an idea I worked on during an extremely dark time in my life has flourished into a powerful force for good.”
