Protomartyr unveil new single 'Elimination Dances'

With their highly-anticipated new album landing in the coming months, Protomartyr have now unveiled the next cut to be lifted from their forthcoming full-length.

The new single 'Elimination Dances' comes accompanied by a stunning new video, directed by Yoonha Park and featuring dancer Kota Yamazaki, and follows on from the previously shared lead track 'Make Way' in previewing their sixth LP 'Formal Growth In The Desert', which is out on the 2nd June via Domino.

Speaking about the new visuals, Park said, “My dad once told me ‘Life is like a roll of toilet paper. The closer it gets to the end the faster it goes.’ That idea along with the lyrics led to the idea of a choreographic pattern that repeats as it grows outward in an expanding spiral. The choreography repeats with each cycle but has to be danced faster and faster to keep pace with the ‘pale youth’ until eventually devolving into chaos. I recently learned that the toilet paper quote was actually by Andy Rooney.”
