Despite only just arriving on the new music scene in recent weeks, New York-based duo Punk Mafia are already looking like one of the more exciting names for the year ahead. With plans to release a new EP of intense offerings every two months, the band's ambitions have already exceeded what many others try to achieve in such a short space of time. And now looking to kick things off, they deliver their blistering debut EP 'Radio Silence', a release that looks to introduce the world to their distinctive direction.

While punk is clearly the main focus of their aesthetic, 'Radio Silence' seems to take on a more diverse avenue from the off. Brimming with a varied approach to their aesthetic that follows an almost industrial and even disco-inspired pace as it goes, their initial four-track collection has this wonderfully immersive appeal to it. With the energy and pace kept at full speed from start to finish, they seem to be exploring an eclectic array of ideas in order to find which one best suits their passionate ambition for the future.

With such a firm and focused approach to their sound already, Punk Mafia have unveiled some brilliantly fun and lively outings here. They may have only just gotten off the starting blocks, but 'Radio Silence' has a confident will of intent running through it, which is sure to keep their progressive ideals alive throughout their next batch of releases as well.
