Purity Ring announce self-titled new album

Electronic pop visionaries Purity Ring have announced their highly-anticipated self-titled fourth album, set for release on the 26th September via the fellowship. Alongside this announcement, the duo drop their euphoric new single 'place of my own', offering fans a shimmering glimpse into their next chapter.

'place of my own' pulses with blissful synth melodies and anthemic trance energy, weaving a delicate spell around the repeated refrain: “all I want is a place of my own / some way to be alone.” Lyrically, it explores a longing for belonging and sanctuary in a world slipping from view, evoking dreamlike landscapes just out of reach.

“This song came into being with ease and immediacy,” the band explains. “It’s about the places we dream of and wish we could inhabit — places we see but can’t quite touch. It’s a kind of spell, a way to imagine these spaces into existence.”

The upcoming album marks a bold evolution for Purity Ring, shifting from their trademark body horror imagery toward a fantastical, narrative-driven concept inspired by RPG games like Nier Automata and Final Fantasy X. The record follows two characters (representing band members mj and Corin) on a quest to build a kinder world from the ashes of a broken one, a journey that’s as much about collective healing as it is about escape.
