Massive Attack have shared their powerful new single 'Boots on the Ground', a striking collaboration with Tom Waits that arrives as one of their most politically charged releases to date.
Marking Massive Attack’s first new material since 2020, and Waits’s first recording since his 2011 album 'Bad As Me', the track confronts themes of conflict, control and societal unrest. Drawing on the sentiment of Bob Dylan’s 'Masters of War', the song captures a sense of urgency, reflecting on humanity’s continued cycles of destruction.
The release will also be issued as a 12” vinyl, featuring the single on Side A and an exclusive B-side, 'The Fly', a spoken-word piece led by Waits, showcasing his signature dark humour and gravel-toned delivery.
