Having spent much of his childhood in Lagos working on a variety of different styles of music, before finding himself as the abstract producer on his debut album 'In Greyscale' back in 2016, Tony Njoku looks set to explore more of his personal journey on his eagerly-awaited follow-up. His sophomore full-length 'H.P.A.C.' sees him blend organic percussion with a very dark and brooding presence, showing that while he was raised in Nigeria, it is certainly part of the London fold now.

From the start, it is clear that Radiohead play a strong influence in his direction. With the haunting vocal display reminiscent of Thom Yorke and experimental nature of Jonny Greenwood, the producer has managed to conceive an album that is as entrancing as it is memorable. With plenty of fresh ideas on almost every track, it is clear that Tony has a true flair for the avant-garde and has managed to take that to new heights on his latest release.

While there are times that his experimentation takes you away from the moment, the result is a beautifully compelling record with all the hallmarks of a true musical innovator. Fans of James Blake and Sampha will get this instantly, and find themselves with a new favourite on the scene.
