We Are Scientists drop new single 'I Could Do Much Worse'

Brooklyn indie-rock stalwarts We Are Scientists share a rare slow-burn moment in 'I Could Do Much Worse', the second single from their upcoming album 'Qualifying Miles', out on the 18th July via Groenland Records. Departing from their usual high-energy fare, the track unfolds as a melancholic power ballad built on shimmering guitars, swelling emotion, and a soaring chorus that lingers long after the final note.

“This one started out feeling like a lament,” says frontman Keith Murray. “But over time, it’s revealed itself to be something more nuanced—a meditation on how our worst mistakes can also become our greatest teachers.”

With its minor-key introspection and lyrical vulnerability, 'I Could Do Much Worse' shines a light on the band’s softer edges, offering fans a glimpse of their emotional depth and sonic range. It’s a powerful reminder that even party-starters have hearts to wear on their sleeves.
