Having originally formed back in the 70s, British post-punk revivalists Wire have proven themselves to be one of the most consistent bands in the world. While they have had their spells of silence throughout their career, they have found themselves in an extremely prolific spell with 'Nocturnal Koreans' becoming their third studio album in just three years. And it seems that their creativity is still very much on top of its game.

Coming in at just over 26 minutes in length, 'Nocturnal Koreans' is over before its barely begun. But what it lacks in quantity, it certainly makes up for in quality as this new record shows a hardened and well-rounded direction that only 40 years of experience could create. It is always refreshing to hear a band looking to grow their sound and take contemporary influences with it, and that is exactly what this new full-length has created.

Something for the hardcore fans but a lot of trial-by-fire tracks that show that the spark is far from gone in these alt veterans. A New Order-meets-Primal Scream release that fans of any age can appreciate.
