Prince has two albums ready for release

Earlier this year, Prince announced that a new album with his band 3rdEyeGirl would be released in the near future, but in a recent interview with Star Tribune, it now seems that the artist has been working on two new albums.

In the interview, the reporter was played tracks from both his forthcoming album 'Plectrum Electrum' as well as another self-titled album, engineered and produced by Joshua Welton.

The new material featured in the report included new track 'The Gold Standard', 'This Could Be Us' allegedly based on the Internet meme of Prince and Apollonia riding a motorcycle in his 1984 film 'Purple Rain', as well as a collaboration with Rita Ora in which he raps.

So far, there has been no announcement on when or whether we will see both of these new records, although Prince did elaborate on the frustration he was having at putting the new material out, claiming “Every Number 1 song, every Top 10 song, every song in the Top 40 is at least six months old. We should be able to make music and put it out now."
