Sunflower Bean share new single 'Crashing Highs'

New York’s Sunflower Bean return with 'Crashing Highs', the first of five new tracks set to expand their acclaimed album 'Mortal Primetime' into a Deluxe edition, out on the 17th October via Lucky Number.

Drenched in the fuzzy intensity of Sonic Youth and lit by crashing cymbals and raw guitar energy, 'Crashing Highs' captures the rush and comedown of infatuation. “It’s about chasing the past and losing grip on something that once felt huge,” the band explains, a sentiment that pulses through every dissonant chord and propulsive beat.

It’s a fitting re-entry for the trio who self-produced 'Mortal Primetime', their most emotionally charged and creatively liberated record to date. First released in April, the album was praised by Rolling Stone, NME, BBC 6Music, MOJO and more for its fearless blend of alt-rock, psychedelia, and post-pandemic soul-searching.
