Bloc Party have shared ‘Lagoon Blue’, the final preview of their forthcoming album 'Anatomy Of A Brief Romance' ahead of its release on the 11th September via Contagious Music.
The track holds a particularly important place within the record. ‘Lagoon Blue’ was the first song written for the project, emerging while frontman Kele Okereke was experiencing the exhilarating beginnings of a new relationship.
What initially existed as a celebration of unexpected love eventually became the opening chapter of a much larger story. After the relationship ended, Okereke found the song difficult to revisit in isolation, prompting the creation of an album that could document the romance from beginning to end.
Produced by legendary producer Trevor Horn, 'Anatomy Of A Brief Romance' follows that journey chronologically, moving from the excitement of its earliest encounters towards eventual heartbreak. Previous singles include ‘Coming On Strong’, ‘Love Bombs’, ‘Pigwig’ and ‘Not Your Problem’.
