Holly Humberstone announces new album 'Cruel World'

Holly Humberstone has officially announced her second full-length album 'Cruel World', set for release on the 10th April 2026. Marking a bold return from one of the UK’s most emotionally perceptive songwriters, the album dives into the bittersweet spaces between chaos and clarity, joy and sorrow.

Alongside the announcement, Holly shares the powerful lead single 'To Love Somebody', a haunting, poetic reflection on love’s dual nature: grounding and disorienting. The accompanying video, directed by Silken Weinberg (Ethel Cain), channels the gothic magic of Victorian theatre and Brothers Grimm fairytales.

'Cruel World' emerges from two years of healing and rediscovery, drawing from personal talismans, childhood memories, and a renewed sense of self. Visually and sonically, the album draws on inspirations ranging from Edward Scissorhands to Nosferatu, childhood ballet shoes to forgotten storybooks.
