Kokoroko announce new album 'Tuff Times Never Last'

Celebrated London-based Afrobeat collective Kokoroko have announced their much-anticipated second studio album 'Tuff Times Never Last', set for release on the 11th July via Brownswood Recordings. Alongside the announcement, the band have unveiled its dazzling first single 'Sweetie' — a soulful, sun-drenched preview of what’s to come.

The 11-track album is a rich, genre-blending tapestry that holds space for both joy and hardship. At its heart is a message of endurance: that even in the most difficult moments, beauty and celebration can emerge. It’s a deeply personal yet universally resonant offering that explores themes of togetherness, community, sensuality, childhood, grief, and — above all — perseverance.

Speaking on the album’s title and inspiration, co-bandleader Onome Edgeworth shared, “It’s true! Although we’re reflecting on joy and celebration, you realize that a lot of that beauty comes out of challenges and difficulties. It felt like a natural truth that we discovered whilst writing.”
