Loome announces sophomore album YOUFORIA with punchy new single

Suffolk alt-pop artist Loome has announced his second album YOUFORIA, due May 22nd, alongside the release of new single 'The Shakedown'—a track that captures the artist at his most direct and self-assured.

The song wastes no time. A distortion-tinged beat sets a restless tone, building through pulsing synths and Loome's understated yet effortlessly charismatic vocals. As the melodies rise, fuzzy guitars cut through the mix, adding a fizzing indie edge that keeps the track from settling comfortably into any one genre. Produced alongside Jason La Rocca—an engineer whose credits span major films and blockbuster games including Cyberpunk 2077 and God Of War—'The Shakedown' feels polished without losing its rough edges.

Lyrically, Tomas Frankson gets specific about the friction at the song's core. "The only rival I have is myself, the light versus the dark. My ambition versus my apathy. My confidence versus my self sabotage," he explains. It's a theme that resonates beyond typical introspection—this is about the daily push and pull of trying to create while your own mind works against you.

What makes Loome's trajectory compelling is how self-contained it's been. Working entirely from a one-room home studio in Suffolk, Frankson writes, plays, and engineers everything himself. That autonomy built him a fanbase stretching from the UK to Asia following 2025's debut ASTROHEARTS, which earned him a spot on BBC Introducing's 'Sound Of 2023' list, a slot at Latitude Festival, and extensive Spotify Editorial support.

'The Shakedown' positions Loome as an artist who's figured out his voice and isn't interested in diluting it. This is alt-pop built on real tension, crafted by someone who understands that the best songs often come from wrestling with yourself—and letting that struggle show.
