Mystery Jets announce new album 'A Hole To See The Sky Through'

London favourites Mystery Jets have announced their seventh studio album 'A Hole To See The Sky Through', marking their first full-length release in four years and signalling a bold new chapter for one of British indie music’s most enduring bands.

Set for release on the 21st August via Fiction Records, the album takes its title from Yoko Ono’s conceptual artwork of the same name, with the artist personally granting permission for the original minimalist piece to appear as the album cover. That sense of openness, imagination and perspective runs throughout the record itself, which the band describe as a movement away from conflict and back toward something more cosmic and emotionally expansive.

Alongside the announcement, the band have shared the infectious title-track, following last week’s reverb-soaked return with 'Black Sage'. Both tracks arrive with live performance videos filmed inside the James Turrell Skyspace at Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens, directed by James Slater, whose previous work includes collaborations with Yard Act and Sam Fender.

Recorded with producer Leo Abrahams, known for work with Brian Eno and Wild Beasts, the album continues the restless creative evolution that has defined Mystery Jets since their emergence from Eel Pie Island in the early 2000s. More than two decades into their career, the band still sound driven by curiosity, reinvention and a refusal to stand still.
